Environmentally Friendly Holidays in Lincolnshire
"What an amazing, beautiful and tranquil place to visit."

The Bennett family are privileged to have lived at Brackenborough for over 100 years. We really enjoy sharing the beauty of the estate with guests and feel a strong duty of stewardship for future generations. A commitment to protecting the environment is a key part of this.
In the Coach House we use low energy lightbulbs and environmentally friendly cleaning products whenever possible as well as encouraging guests to make use of our recycling bins. We offer free seasonal fruit and vegetables from our garden and sell local Lincolnshire produce.
On the farm, Paul is part of the Higher Level Environmental scheme. We don't use any fertilisers on our parkland and manage our woodland (home to deer and buzzards) in a sustainable way. We have extensive field margins to encourage wildlife and have areas of wildflowers to support birds and bees.
We have been keen to take advantage of renewable energy sources. The heating and hot water for the Coach House and Hall is run from a biomass boiler which was first installed in 2007. The boiler runs on woodchip and burns incredibly efficiently. In December 2015 we installed 120 solar panels on the roof of our new farm building. These provide electricity for the farm and also feed power back into the grid.

We feel enormously priviledged to live in this beautiful location and to play a role in preserving it for future generations to enjoy. We hope that you will enjoy the peace, beauty and space while you are visiting.
